Since 2021, the Faculty of Law Library has been participating in the project Virtual Collections of the University of Zagreb – Vizbi.UNIZG, launched in 2020 by the University of Zagreb in cooperation with its constituents.
With a view to fostering open science and open access, digitized materials are intended to be made available to researchers, students, and the general public, thereby supporting scientific communication. Digitization simultaneously protects original and sensitive materials from frequent use and exposure to inappropriate microclimatic conditions.
The Faculty of Law Library is currently represented on the portal with 54 entries (faculty journals and old and rare books and manuscripts) and several virtual collections of digitized materials, while the database is planned to be systematically updated.
Seeing as the Faculty of Law in Zagreb signed the Agreement on the Use of the e-Kultura System with the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia in 2023, the faculty library has digitized four titles from its collection through this project, which are also available on the Vizbi.UNIZG portal.
The portal is accessed via the Indigo system:
Also, 35 book titles from the PFZ Library have been aggregated via the Vizbi.UNIZG portal into the Znameniti.hr portal, which contains digital material by great Croatian authors from the world of culture, science, art and public life gathered from various collections/repositories.
The portal was created as part of the project Znameniti i zaslužni Hrvati project (Notable Croatians), which aims to establish a basis for the collecting and comprehensive searching of digital material metadata from Croatian cultural, artistic and scientific institutions.
