On 13 April 2026, the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, held the academic and professional event “Inclusion Day – Current Realities and Prospects for Advancement,” aimed at fostering dialogue and promoting a more inclusive academic environment for students with disabilities.

The event gathered 29 participants, including students and staff, and was organised under the leadership of Professor Zdravka Leutar, Chair of the Committee for Persons with Disabilities. Through a series of presentations, it addressed institutional inclusivity, challenges faced by teaching staff, and approaches focused on fostering belonging and supporting students.

A significant contribution was the panel discussion “Communication and Studying for Persons with Disabilities at the Faculty of Law – Practical Experiences,” prepared by the Social Work Association “Socius.” In the panel, female students shared personal experiences of studying, highlighted everyday challenges and the level of support from teaching staff, and offered concrete suggestions for enhancing the student experience. The discussion encouraged active engagement and open dialogue on potential solutions.

A Guide for Students with Disabilities was also introduced as a practical support tool. In conclusion, it was emphasised that while progress in inclusivity is evident, further efforts in education, awareness, and systemic solutions are needed to ensure equal study conditions for all students.
