About the Program

The European Commission publishes an annual report analyzing the state of rule of law and democracy across the EU and candidate countries. However, this essential report is often seen as too long and complex for journalists and citizens. The Our Rule of Law Foundation aims to make this report accessible to the public by recruiting 50-70 Democracy Rapporteurs to translate the report into a citizen-centric analysis.

As a Democracy Rapporteur, students will receive expert training and collaborate to produce national chapters of the Our Democracy Report, which will be published on the Foundation’s website.

What Students Will Gain

  • Expert Training in EU law, media reporting, and political communication.
  • Hands-on experience in writing concise analyses, working with data, and collaborating on cross-border projects.
  • Mentorship from national coaches with experience in the field.
  • Public Exposure for their work, published on a platform accessible to EU citizens and media.
