Project Description
rEUsilience examines the socio-economic risks that families face in European societies and the role of social policies in protecting them from these risks. More specifically, the focus is on labor market-related risks (e.g., increasing job insecurity) on the one hand, and family caregiving responsibilities on the other. The research, which is conducted both at the EU level and in the partner countries (Belgium, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom), addresses two main questions:
In addition to the research component, the project includes a social policy lab, where citizens and professionals will actively participate in analyzing existing policies and finding solutions to identified challenges. Other methods, such as simulations, will also be used to test potential solutions.
Project Partners are Rense Nieuwenhuis (Stockholm University), Mary Daly (University of Oxford), Wim Van Lancker (KU Leuven), Marga León (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Anna Matysiak (University of Warsaw), Ivana Dobrotić (University of Zagreb) and Elizabeth Gosme (COFACE Families Europe).
In Croatia, the project is being implemented at the Social Work Study Center, Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. Ivana Dobrotić (PI) and Anja Iveković Martinis (Postdoctoral Researcher) are collaborating on the project.
