The Department of Constitutional Law will participate in two scientific conferences as part of the DEFIDEM project in 2024.

The first scientific conference, entitled “Quelle culture populaire pour la démocratie ?” (What popular culture do we need for democracy?), will be held in the city of Aix-en-Provence, France, from 10 to 11 June 2024. The conference will address the issue of how and to what extent issues of democratic values ​​and democratic systems are represented in national educational systems and national visual culture – films and TV series.

The second scientific conference will be held in the city of Lille, France, from 14 to 15 November 2024. The topic of the conference is the relationship between direct and participatory democracy. Participants will discuss the importance of these two models of democracy, the social groups that use them and the goals they seek to achieve, the obstacles to the successful implementation of these models, the relationship between them and classic electoral processes, and other relevant issues.
