Iva Bjelinski Radić was born in Šibenik in 1987. She attended the Fifth Grammar School (V. gimnazija) in Zagreb, specialising in science and mathematics. In 2012, she graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb with magna cum laude honours. During her studies she was awarded the Dean’s Award for the success in studying (2008) and Special Rector’s Award for the success in the regional student Moot Court competition in the human rights field (2009). She spent one semester of the academic year 2010/2011 as an exchange student within the framework of the Erasmus programme at Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria.

From March 2012 until September 2014, she worked as a law trainee at the Law firm Glinska & Mišković Ltd in Zagreb. She passed the Croatian Bar exam in January 2014.

Since September 2014 she has been working as a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Labour and Social Security Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. Since July 2022 she is a senior research and teaching assistant. She actively participates in lectures, seminars and exercises in the courses of the Department of Labour and Social Security law. From 2014 to 2020, she was the academic mentor of the Group for protection of workers’ rights in the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb.

In March 2022 she defended her doctoral dissertation “Labour Law Aspects of Platform Work” with summa cum laude honours, under the supervision of Professor Ivana Grgurev. In the same year she published the monograph “Labour Law Aspects of Platform Work”.

She actively participates in domestic and international scientific conferences and seminars, as well as research projects on labour law topics. In 2020, she participated as a national expert for Croatia in the European Commission project titled “Study to Gather Evidence on Working Conditions of Platform Workers”.

She is an author and co-author of several scientific papers in the labour law field, with a special interest in the issues of digitalisation, platform work and new forms of work.

She is a proficient user in English (C2) and independent user in German (B2). She is a member of the Croatian Society for Labour Law and Social Security. Since January 2022 she has been the president of the Ethics Commission of the City of Zagreb.
