Nikša Vojvoda, a doctoral candidate and assistant in the research project “Croatian Misdemeanour Law in the European Context – Challenges and Perspectives,” funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, was at the University of Liège from April 16 to July 13 as a student of the doctoral study program “Legal Science”, which was a part of the Erasmus+ program.
During his stay, he conducted doctoral research and worked on writing his doctoral dissertation. Additionally, at the invitation of Professor Vanessa Franssen, he gave a lecture on Croatian criminal procedural law as part of the Comparative Criminal Procedural Law course. He also presented his doctoral research on procedural safeguards in quasi-criminal proceedings at a research seminar organized by the Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law at the Faculty of Law in Liège.
Finally, as part of his stay, he had the opportunity to visit the Court of Justice of the European Union and the headquarters of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office in Luxembourg.
