The Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb and the European Parliament Office in Croatia signed a cooperation agreement on December 20, 2024, with the goal of enhancing mutual cooperation in the field of educating students about the functioning of the European Union. The agreement was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Ivan Koprić, and the Acting Head of the European Parliament Office in Croatia, Maja Ljubić Kutnjak, with the participation of the Vice Dean for International and Interinstitutional Cooperation and Quality Assurance at the Faculty of Law, Professor Iris Goldner Lang.
The agreement will enable activities aimed at improving the quality of the educational system and promoting knowledge about European policies and work. These activities will be carried out through connecting science and practice and the organization of joint educational programs. A special focus of the cooperation will be the joint organization of guest lectures, workshops, and thematic meetings on European policies, work, and the legislative power of the European Parliament aimed at young people, in line with the study programs, implementation plans, and organizational possibilities.
Opportunities for student participation in conferences and educational activities organized by the European Parliament Office, visits to the new “Experience Europe” center (Tome Bakača 3, Zagreb), and participation in the center’s interactive activities simulating the legislative work of the European Parliament, will support and encourage the participation of young people in shaping European policies and increase understanding of the impact of EU laws on citizens’ daily lives.
