The international student conference “Current State and Upcoming Challenges in Legal Theory and Philosophy 2024” was held on 3 May 2024, in the premises of the Association of University Teachers and Other Scientists. The event was organized by the Croatian Association for Legal and Social Philosophy and Theory of Law and State (HUPSF), with support of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb. Following the success of last year’s inaugural conference, this year’s edition aimed to bring together young researchers in the fields of legal theory and philosophy, focusing on doctrinal and empirical approaches to law with a more distinct philosophical and concept-analytical content.

After the opening remarks by Professor Iris Goldner Lang, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, and Associate Professor Luka Burazin, President of HUPSF, presentations were given by 11 speakers from universities in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom.

Through three conference panels, topics such as legal reasoning and methodology, interdisciplinarity, natural law, and proportionality were discussed.

The organizing committee members were Assistant Marin Keršić (Faculty of Law in Split), Assistant Tomislav Nedić (Faculty of Law in Osijek), and Assistant Svan Relac (Faculty of Law in Zagreb).
