On Friday, 11 November 2023, Professor Stephen Terret from the British Law Centre gave a lecture on the topic “English Constitutional Law in a Nutshell” in a full lecture hall of the Faculty of Law.

The Vice-Dean for International and Interinstitutional Cooperation, Prof. Iris Goldner Lang, delivered an introductory speech to the many interested students, mostly those attending the courses “English for the Legal Profession,” accompanied by the teachers of the Law School’s Department of Foreign Languages.

The lecture served as an excellent introduction to the new “Diploma in English Law and Legal Skills (DELLS)” programme, launched by the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, in collaboration with the British Law Centre.

DELLS offers participants a comprehensive study of fundamental aspects of English law, aiming to enhance participants’ knowledge of legal terminology in the English language. More information about the programme can be found at: https://www.britishlawcentre.co.uk/zagreb/

It was delightful to see, during the first lecture on Saturday, a cheerful group of seventeen motivated participants who enrolled in the programme this year. The group comprises students near the end of their studies and former alumni of the Faculty of Law, and we were pleasantly surprised by a participant who even joined us from abroad.

The high attendance shows that initiating this type of cooperation was an excellent decision. We look forward to the continuation of the program and good results.
