Iva Savić was born in Zagreb in 1983. After graduating from secondary school (First Gymnasium, Zagreb), she enrolled in the Faculty of Law in 2001, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2006.

She was employed at the Faculty of Law in 2007 as a research assistant in the project of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports „Croatian transport law and challenges of the EU single market“ (project leader: Prof. Nikoleta Radionov).

In December 2007 she enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral study of company and commercial law, which she completed in June 2014, having defended her dissertation titled „Impact of air traffic agreements between the EU and third countries on the development of international air law“.

She has visited the United States on multiple occasions for the purpose of receiving training in air law. She introduced an optional course in international air law at the Faculty of Law, which is open for enrolment by both domestic and exchange students. She is a co-founder and vice-president of the Croatian Transport Law Association (HDTP), member of the organisational and scientific committee of the European Air Law Association (EALA) and other professional and scientific associations in the country and abroad.

Associate Professor Iva Savić has published a book in international air law as the sole author, co-authored a book in European transport law, and has published several scientific and professional articles in the areas of air law, maritime law and insurance, and European transport law in domestic and foreign publications.
