On Monday, 11 December 2023 at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, the closing presentation was held of the Erasmus project Youthreach: Inclusive and transformative Frameworks for all.

The Faculty of Law was a partner in the consortium composed of expert teams from Slovenia, Spain, France and Italy. The faculty team comprised Prof. Marjana Majdak, Prof. Gordana Berc and Jelena Tadić Cegnar, in co-operation with the civil association Aktivni građani (Active citizens), represented by Ana Marija Munjaković.

The focus of the project was Youthreach – the ways of reaching and working with young people in need of help who, for some reason, cannot or do not wish to look for help. Various Youthreach models have been developed in the participant countries, based on active participation of social workers in the local community, identifying the places where young people gather and socialize, and on preventive work.

During the project, the Faculty of Law hosted a transnational meeting of all members on 1 February 2023. The project included training for social workers in the application of the Youthreach method in practice, while the Youthreach manual is currently being translated into Croatian and will soon be widely available. The presentation took part in two sessions of the course Social Work and Juvenile Delinquency with a view to acquaint future young social workers with the topic. Guest speakers were also invited to share their rich work experience both in research and practice and contribute to the discussions, including Prof. Ana Štambuk, representatives of NGOs PRAGMA, Society for Social Support and RETO Centar, social workers Ivana Đurek Setinšek, Nataša Kranjčević and Jasminka Jukić.

We look forward to future project proposals from the area of social work and networking with colleagues from Croatia and abroad.
