The student team from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, won second place at the Central and Eastern European Moot Competition (CEEMC), held in Warsaw from 25 to 27 April, 2025.
The team was represented by students Patricija Čeović, Franka Logarić, Iva Pejić, and Nika Vicković, who spent four months intensively preparing for the competition under the guidance of the Department of European Public Law. Their preparation was led by teaching assistants Luka Petrović and Ana Altabas. In addition to the team’s excellent overall achievement, student Patricija Čeović was awarded the Lord Slynn of Hadley Best Speaker Prize, while student Nika Vicković received the Noted Speaker Prize.
The Central and Eastern European Moot Competition is one of the most prestigious student competitions in the field of European law, simulating proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union. Judges and advocates general of the CJEU, as well as distinguished professors of European law, participate in judging the competition. It is organized by the British Law Centre, with which the Faculty of Law collaborates through the Diploma in English Law and Legal Skills program. This year, a total of eighteen teams from Central and Eastern Europe took part in the competition.
