In September 2024, Professor Anna-Maria Getoš Kalac was elected President of the European Society of Criminology (ESC), which gathers over 2,000 members from all over Europe and many other countries of the world. Along with the American and British Criminological Societies, the ESC is the most significant and distinguished multidisciplinary scientific association in the field of criminology. Prof. Getoš Kalac was elected for a term of 3 years and will manage the association also in the capacity of a member of the Executive Board of the ESC during her term of office.
Since 2006, Professor Getoš Kalac, Kalac has been teaching courses at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb.D. pertaining to criminology, victimology and penology, and the basics of criminal law, leading the Balkan Criminology research group since 2012.
