On 6 June 2025, the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb hosted the international conference Salaries in National and Supranational Law, organised by the Department of Labour and Social Law. The conference was officially opened by Professor Iris Goldner Lang, PhD, Vice Dean for International and Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Quality Management.

In addition to members of the Department of Labour and Social Security Law, the conference featured contributions from several distinguished international experts. The Faculty of Law had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Grega Strban, PhD (Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana), Professor Jesús Federico Martínez Girón, PhD, and Professor Alberto Arufe Varela, PhD (Faculty of Law, University of A Coruña), as well as Professor Luca Nogler, PhD, and Assistant Professor Chiara Cristofolini, PhD (Faculty of Law, University of Trento).

The conference addressed a range of contemporary issues related to the regulation of salaries at both national and supranational levels. Discussions included the legal framework for salaries in Spain, Italy, and Croatia, as well as the regulation of salaries under European Union law and within the Council of Europe framework (European Social Charter). Additional topics included platform workers’ salaries, public sector salaries, judicial salaries, and the interrelation between salaries and pensions.
