On April 15 th 2025, the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL), Uzbekistan. This was an important step toward enhanced academic collaboration between the two institutions, which began with the project collaboration within the Horizon programme.

During the visit, representatives of both universities engaged in productive discussions focusing on the potential for future cooperation in areas such as student and faculty staff exchange programmes, joint research projects, and other academic activities. The delegation from TSUL, led by senior university officials, Professor of Law Ikhtiyor Bekov, PhD, Head of the Constitutional Law Department, Professor of Law Bekzod Musaev, PhD and Professor of Law Bakhtiyar Khidoyatov, PhD, expressed a strong interest in deepening ties with the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, recognizing its rich academic tradition and expertise in studies of European Law.

Vice Dean for International Cooperation, Inter-Institutional Relations, and Quality Management of the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Professor Iris Goldner Lang, PhD warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the mutual benefits of such partnerships, especially in the context of fostering intercultural dialogue and legal education reform.

The visit was an excellent opportunity to highlight shared goals in promoting international academic standards, strengthening legal education, and creating opportunities for students to gain broader, globally-oriented legal perspectives. Both sides expressed optimism about agreeing on a cooperation plan in the near future.

In addition to Vice Dean professor Goldner Lang, PhD, the meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Ružica Šimić Banović, PhD, Ida Ogulinac, Head of the Office for International Cooperation and Projects, and Martina Batistić, Expert Associate at the Office for International Cooperation and Projects.
