Antonija Ivančan has been employed at the Department of European Public Law since 2017.

She graduated in 2013 from the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb with the Rector’s and Dean’s Award for her achievements in moot court competitions. In 2014, she earned her LL.M. degree (with distinction) in intellectual property law at Queen Mary University of London. From 2014 to 2017, she worked as a junior associate at a law firm specializing in intellectual property law, and in 2016 she passed the bar exam with honours.

Under the dual mentorship of associate professor, Ph.D. Melita Carević and Prof. Ph.D. Raquel Xalabarder Plantada (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona) in 2023 she defended her doctoral dissertation (summa cum laude) before an international committee entitled “EU Copyright Law Beyond Internal Market – Critical Analysis of Limitations and Exceptions For Education Purposes”.

As a researcher, she stayed at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona (2021-2022) and Queen Mary University of London (2024).

Since 2024, she has been the executive editor of the Croatian Yearbook of European Law and Policy (CYELP).
