Ana Rački Marinković was born on 6 August 1975 in Zagreb. She completed her high school education in Zagreb and graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb.

She defended her master’s thesis titled “Absolute Grounds for Refusal of Trademark Registration in Croatian Law and European Trademark Law” on 15 October 2007 within the postgraduate scientific study of commercial law and company law at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Earlier Rights in the Process of Acquiring Trademarks in Croatian Law and European Union Law” on 15 October 2010 at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, obtaining a PhD in the field of social sciences, scientific field of law, scientific branch of commercial law and company law.

She was appointed as an associate professor in the scientific field of social sciences, scientific field of law, scientific branch of commercial law at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, on 8 February 2023.

She is employed at the University of Applied Sciences in Security and Safety, where she teaches Administrative Procedure and International and European Security Law. As an external collaborator, she delivers lectures at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, and within the interdisciplinary postgraduate studies “Intellectual Property” at the University of Zagreb. As part of the activities of the Academy of Intellectual Property at the State Intellectual Property Office she has conducted lectures and professional training in the field of intellectual property law. She has led and presented at workshops organised by the Judicial Academy, Police Academy, State School for Public Administration, and the Intellectual Property Summer School of the World Intellectual Property Organization. She has been a member of the Boards of Appeal in the field of industrial property law and has participated as a member of the working group in the preparation of negotiations with the European Union for Chapter 7: Intellectual Property. She chaired the Coordination Board for the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights, which operates within the permanent mechanism for coordinating the tasks and activities of implementing intellectual property law in the Republic of Croatia.

Her scientific work focuses on industrial property, more specifically trademark law, geographical indications, trade secrets, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

She passed the state professional examination in 2008 and the judicial examination in 2009. She is fluent in English and German and has a basic knowledge of French.
