On 26 May 2026, the Legal Theory Workshop Zagreb–Brno was held at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb (Trg Republike Hrvatske 3, Lecture Hall 6). The workshop was organised by the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, in cooperation with the Croatian Association for Legal and Social Philosophy and the Theory of Law and State (HUPSF / IVR Croatia).

The workshop aimed to foster further cooperation between Croatian and Czech legal theorists through discussion of contemporary challenges in legal theory, institutional principles of responsibility, and modern philosophical and social theories within the legal order.

The official programme featured professors and researchers from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.

The conference programme included the following presentations, delivered in English:

  • The Institutional Harm Principle as a Basis for the Theory of Disciplinary Offenses – Martin Hapla (Masaryk University)
  • Legal Falsificationism – Tomáš Sobek (Masaryk University)
  • Legitimacy of Judicial Activism through the Lens of John Searle’s Social Ontology – Linda Tvrdíková (Masaryk University)

The presentations were followed by a productive discussion during which participants and academics examined the theoretical concepts presented, thereby contributing to the further development of international academic cooperation between the Faculties of Law in Zagreb and Brno.
