Bringing numerous inspiring stories from the labour market and useful advice for students of law, public administration, and tax administration studies, the career days were held from February 26 to March 1, 2024, in the Faculty building at Ćirilometodska Street 4.

The days were opened by the dean of the Faculty of Law, prof. dr. sc. Ivan Koprić. Within the career days, numerous topics were discussed, including technological challenges, as well as the specifics of careers in the judiciary, the legal profession, companies, European Union institutions, human rights organizations, civil service, state administration, independent regulators, and local and regional self-government. Special panel discussions “Knowledge and skills of public administration students for work after graduation” and “Career in the tax profession for work after graduation” were dedicated to professions in public administration, during which students could hear valuable examples from practice.

The dean of the Faculty of Law, prof. dr. sc. Ivan Koprić emphasised the importance of career days for informing students and graduates about the needs of the institutions and offices that employ our graduates, and about the skills that are necessary for various fields of work, as well as for the these representatives of the institutions and offices who, in direct contact with recent graduates or those about to graduate, can promote the good aspects of employment in them and even carry out the initial selection of potential candidates for employment; and, finally, for the Faculty, which thus becomes a place of gathering, strengthening the alumni community and developing all professions taught at the Faculty.

These efforts of the Faculty are systematised and, in addition to constantly informing the members of the alumni community and holding career days, mentoring in the legal and other related professions is also being developed, and a platform, i.e. the new portal Provis – Alumni Club, is created for advertising staffing needs of all offices and institutions that are interested in it. The dean emphasized that the choice of future career field is very important in order to achieve not only professional development and success, but also personal satisfaction of each of our graduated students.

The participation of successful students of the Faculty of Law showed the importance of career days, not only for the students and graduates, but also for some seventy representatives of offices and institutions that are interested in their employment. Apart from that, Career Speed Dating enabled individual conversations of students and graduated students with the representatives of offices and institutions. A more relaxed atmosphere during career days helps students to present themselves better and to show their abilities.
