The Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb had the pleasure of hosting Professor of International Public Law and International Relations Susana Sanz Caballero from the Spanish University CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia for a one-month study stay.

On Wednesday, July 17, a meeting was held in the premises of the Faculty, the participants were prof. Sanz Caballero, associate professor Dario Čepo, PhD from the Department of Sociology as the main host, vice dean for international and inter-institutional cooperation and quality management prof. Iris Goldner Lang and Martina Batistić from the Office for International Cooperation. The topics such as the field of human rights protection, similarities and differences of national policies regarding human rights protection, and challenges in the functioning of the judicial systems in Spain and Croatia were discussed during the meeting. Experiences related to the implementation of academic projects at the national and regional level were exchanged too. Mutual interest in future cooperation between the Faculty of Law and CEU Cardenal Herrera University was repeatedly expressed.

The main goal of the study stay of prof. Sanz Caballero is conducting research on the rule of law in Croatia, as a part of her scientific research project “Crisis of the rule of law in the European Union”.
