On 2 October 2023 the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb organized the Erasmus Welcome Day for foreign students who will spend the winter and, for some, the summer semester studying in Zagreb as part of the Erasmus+ program. This year’s group consists of 59 students from various European countries, including Portugal, Italy, Finland, and Turkey, with the largest number of students coming from Spain and Germany.
In her welcoming speech, Professor Iris Goldner Lang, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, extended a warm welcome to the students, encouraging them to make the most of this opportunity and highlighting that they are the ones who make the community even more beautiful and cheerful.

The event included a presentation with essential information about the Faculty, its professors, student services, and protocols, led by Jelena Tadić Cegnar from the International Mobility Office. The Erasmus Student Network was introduced, which is the largest non-profit organization of student volunteers, organizing various activities, entertainment, and sports programs for foreign students. Students were also briefed on the Buddy System, which encourages connections between foreign and local students to help them adapt better and have someone to ask questions and seek assistance from.
The President of ELSA Zagreb, a part of the world’s largest non-profit and non-political association of law students and young lawyers, Jana Kic, presented ELSA Negotiation Competition, in which foreign students can participate, as well as ELSA Summer and Winter Law Schools. The Legal Clinic was also introduced at the end of the presentation, followed by the traditional group photo in the courtyard of Ćirilometodska 4, along with a light snack and pleasant socializing.

A guided tour of Zagreb was organized, and many students decided to take advantage of the sunny autumn day to get to know the city where they will spend several enjoyable and, hopefully, unforgettable months.
