Full Professor and Head of the Chair of Administrative Science at the Faculty of Law.

 

Teaching courses: law, public administration, tax administration, social work, and several postgraduate and doctoral studies (Public Law and Public Administration; Urban Management; Social Policy). Responsible for 46 courses at the Faculty of Law.

 

One of the creators of the teaching curricula for the vocational study programme in Public Administration and MA study programme in Public Administration at the Study Centre for Public Administration and Public Finances at the Faculty of Law;

Acted as vice-dean of the Faculty of Law, Zagreb University (2001-2003);

Acted as honorary Head of Department for Public Administration Study (2004-2005) at the Social Science Polytechnic;

Acted as honorary Dean of the Social Science Polytechnic in Zagreb (2005-2011);

Acted as Head of the Institute of Public Law and Public Administration of the Faculty of Law, Zagreb University (2005-2013);

Acted as honorary Head of the interdisciplinary postgraduate study Public Administration of the University of Zagreb (2006-2010);

Acted as Head of the doctoral study in Public Law and Public Administration at the Faculty of Law and of the postgraduate study Public Administration (2011-2015)

Acted as Head of the Study Centre for Public Administration and Public Finances with status of vice-dean of the Faculty of Law, Zagreb University (2011-2015);

Since 2015: member of the board of the joint PhD study in Human Rights, Society, and Multi-Level Governance organized by the University of Padua, University of Athens, University of Western Sydney, and the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb.

Supervisor of more than 160 graduation theses in law and public administration, including the two papers receiving the Rector’s of the University of Zagreb Prize and the Dean’s of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb Prize. Supervisor of twelve PhD theses, including the thesis written by Jasmina Džinić who was awarded with NISPAcee Mzia Mikeladze PhD Thesis Award for 2015.

More than 160 presentations at the scientific and other conferences, mostly abroad.

Editor-in-chief of scholarly journal Croatian and Comparative Public Administration.

Member of editorial board of several international scientific journals (Lex localis – Maribor, Trieste, Graz, Split; Riesed, Revista Internacional de Estudios Sobre Sistemas Educativos, Mexico City; Revija za socijalnu politiku, Zagreb; Godišnjak Akademije pravnih znanosti Hrvatske).

Field of expertise and research includes: local governance and self-government, local autonomy and democracy, decentralisation, multi-level governance, European Administrative Space, organisation theory, administrative theory, administrative education, human resource management, performance management, administrative procedures and justice, public policy, comparative public administration, etc.

Author and editor of twenty books, more than 110 scientific papers, more than 180 other articles.
